(Bass) Médoc

The Médoc wine-growing region is located along the left bank of the Gironde river, from Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc in the north to Bordeaux in the south. The Médoc is in turn divided into a northern and a southern part. Bas-Médoc is the north of the Médoc.
The Médoc is an important district of Bordeaux. The term Médoc usually refers to Bas-Médoc. The AP (Appelation Contrôlées) Bas-Médoc does not exist.
